First Presbyterian in Hudson is so much more than a church; it is a place that reminds us we are not alone in the world, that creation, community and the cosmos all intersect in a web of interconnections. Our building is a place of common ground amidst a city of diverse populations that so rarely interact with one another; a place that is approachable and open to all who live, travel, and play here, fostering connections to each other and Beyond.

When you make a contribution to our preservation and restoration efforts, you join the company of countless others who have shaped the past and future of this significant building. Frederick Church, famed Hudson River School painter and architect of Olana, was a contributor to the design of First Presbyterian in Hudson. Martin Van Buren, eighth President of the United States, rented a pew at the church and his family was among prominent members who frequently attended FPC. Louis Comfort Tiffany produced one of his most unique mosaics, a depiction of an open-armed Christ, as a centerpiece for the church’s sanctuary. We all have a responsibility to steward their legacy in this city we love. ONE OF A THOUSAND POINTS OF LIGHT.

A gift as small as $100 coming together with 1000 others will achieve our goal of $l00,000 in matching funds to replace the church roof and ceiling. Upon completion of the ceiling and roof replacement projects, each donor’s contribution will be physically represented as a star lantern suspended from the sanctuary ceiling in the city’s first ever open-source installation of this scale. Stars can be dedicated as a memorial, prayer, or as a representation of an organization, business, cause or person near to your heart. Looking above we will be able to see a constellation of relationships all shining together for the good of the city we love! Various stars are available according to the level of your contribution.
